Reddit user Auir2blaze made a graphic showing how much game consoles would cost in today’s dollars. The Atari 2600 which started the home console revolution would cost $796, while the NeoGeo would cost a whopping $1,225. The Xbox One and Playstation 4 suddenly seem like a great deal!

Grand Theft Auto V publisher Take-Two Interactive has announced that the game pulled in $800 million dollars on its first day. That’s faster than any previous game in GTA history. It’s also closing in on breaking the $1 billion mark faster than any game or movie ever sold. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 holds the current record, reaching $1 billion in sales in only 15 days. By comparison it took film industry record holder Avatar 17 days to reach the same (video games cost much more than a movie ticket at $60 each and people often pre-order games not movie tickets).
